# Ex-Premier League boss rejects Palace due to lack of ambition

Ex-Watford manager Walter Mazzarri has turned down Crystal Palace and Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning, citing their lack of ambition as his reasons.

[Football-Italia](https://www.football-italia.net/103845/mazzarri-no-jiangsu-and-palace), who quote Calcio Mercato, report that the former Napoli boss is on the lookout for a ‘more ambitious club’.

Palace are on the hunt for a new boss after the shock departure of Sam Allardyce at the end of the season.

Sean Dyche, Roger Schmidt and Mauricio Pellegrino have all reportedly been interviewed for the position over the course of the last week.

Mazzarri left Watford in typical fashion, after just one season in charge. The Hornets avoided relegation, finishing 17th in the Premier League but the style of play left plenty to be desired.

After starting the season well, Watford had all-but secured their safety, which resulted in a horrid run of form throughout the second half of the season that saw them slip to within seven points of Hull.
