# Palace eye loan move for United defender Fosu-Mensah

Crystal Palace are interested in signing Manchester United youngster Timothy Fosu-Mensah on loan, according to the [Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/aug/05/gareth-bale-real-madrid-manchester-united-kylian-mbappe).

The report states that new Palace boss Frank de Boer, a fellow Dutchman, is an admirer of the player and can see his potential.

Palace are in the market for another defender and Fosu-Mensah, who can play across the backline, would prove to be a versatile option for the Eagles.

Manchester United appear to be ready to let the player leave on loan, with Watford also showing an interest in the player over the last week.

Fosu-Mensah is keen to remain in the Premier League after breaking into the United squad under Louis van Gaal.

De Doer would like to sign the Dutch youngster, who can also play in midfield, to provide competition at right-back.

Palace have been one of the least active teams in the transfer market this summer, bringing in just Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan from Chelsea and Jairo Riedewald from Ajax.
