# Confirmed: Fosu-Mensah signs for Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace have [officially](https://twitter.com/CPFC/status/895661255549210625) completed the signing of promising Manchester United youngster Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

The impressive defender joins Frank de Boer’s side on a season-long loan, as Palace continue their preparations for the forthcoming season, which gets underway this weekend.

Fosu-Mensah has been in search of a move that will help him to gain more valuable first-team experience in the top flight this season, and Palace have been identified as the perfect destination for all parties.

The Dutchman has never looked out of place in United colours when called upon, but was unlikely to be rewarded with sufficient game time ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

De Boer, who was appointed this summer, has been looking to bolster his defensive options further in recent times, and has seen his compatriot Fosu-Mensah as the man to offer him the depth and quality he demands.
