# De Boer rules out move for ‘expensive’ Sakho

Crystal Palace manager has effectively ended his side’s hopes of signing Mamadou Sakho from Liverpool this summer.

The French defender joined the Eagles on loan for the second half of last season in a deadline day loan move from the Reds. He made a huge impact at the club and was a key part of Palace’s survival in the Premier League.

Palace have been cited with interest for the duration of the summer and while they are undoubtedly keen to bring in Sakho on a permanent basis, Liverpool’s valuation of the defender appears to simply be too unrealistic.

De Boer, as quoted by the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4810180/Frank-Boer-rules-bid-Liverpool-s-Mamadou-Sakho.html), ruled out a move for the former PSG man.

> Everybody knows (Sakho) had a major impact last season and, when he’s available for us, I think that is a quality injection for the club.

> It is not like this now because he is much too expensive for the club.

Reports have suggested that Liverpool want to take at least £30 million from the sale of Sakho, which is a price that Palace are understandably unwilling to pay.

The France international remains out of contention for the Reds, given his frosty relationship with manager Jurgen Klopp.
