Crystal Palace defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah has been rewarded for his solid start to the season. The 19-year-old has earned his first call up to the senior squad for the Netherlands, Football Oranje reports.

Manager Dick Advocaat has brought in the youngster to replace the injured Ajax defender Kenny Tete.

Fosu-Mensah has been playing very well under Frank de Boer, recording nine tackles in the first three matches. His defensive ability for a youngster is a bit raw but very promising.

His parent club Manchester United will be keeping a close eye on his performances throughout the remainder of the Premier League season.

For now, Fosu-Mensah will have to keep his head down and continue to put in strong performances. The call up to the national team is a phenomenal accomplishment and is something that Fosu-Mensah should build upon as he develops.
