# Speroni set for Chelsea start

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson is set to name goalkeeper Julian Speroni in his starting line-up this weekend.

[According to The Independent](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/crystal-palace-chelsea-julian-speroni-wayne-hennessey-knock-injury-a7997736.html), Hodgson is ready to use Speroni after Wayne Hennessey picked up an injury on international duty.

Hennessey suffered a knock whilst playing for Wales earlier this week, clashing with Hull midfielder David Meyler.

Speroni is now set to take centre stage between the sticks as Palace look to take a surprise result at Selhurst Park against the reigning champions.

The 38-year-old has made two Premier League appearances in the last two seasons, both coming in the 2015/16 campaign.

He has only played six games in all competitions since the end of the 2014/15 season.

The Argentine has played 392 games for the club since signing from Dundee in the 2004/05 season.

The report also claims that Hodgson has rejected the chance to sign a goalkeeper on a free as he looks to bolster his attacking options.
