# Palace reportedly have Tosun offer turned down

Crystal Palace don’t appear to be giving up in their pursuit of Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun.

The Turkish international was a big target for the Eagles in the summer transfer window, and a deal looked to have been on the cards. However, the plug was pulled at the last minute – much to Tosun’s public relief – and Palace were left with no attacking signing in the summer.

It seems Palace are still keen, though, with recent reports claiming that they have had a bid worth €20 million turned down.

Speaking to the Turkish media, as cited by [Inside Futbol](https://www.insidefutbol.com/2017/12/19/crystal-palaces-offer-for-newcastle-united-target-deemed-not-good-enough/360344/), Besiktas vice president Ahmet Nur Cebi has insisted that this price is too low for the club’s prized asset.

> We are not sure Cenk will go. We want Cenk to stay.€20m is a very small figure for him.

Tosun has been in superb form for Besiktas this season and played a key role in their Champions League group stage campaign.

Palace are short of strikers and are likely to target a new forward in January.
