# Leicester make enquiries over Townsend swoop

Leicester City have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend this summer.

The Eagles star is said to have emerged as a target for Claude Puel’s side, who have lodged ‘enquiries’ to sound out the possibility of a move in the near future, according to the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5808475/Leicester-boss-Claude-Puel-continues-push-Jonny-Evans-deal.html).

Townsend was a key player for Palace throughout the course of last season and the Eagles will undoubtedly be keen to retain his services ahead of next term.

Leicester, however, are keen to add to their options out wide this summer and are looking to move for the ex-Tottenham man, it seems.

Patrick Roberts, who has recently returned to Manchester City after a loan spell with Celtic, is also understood to be a target for Leicester.

Townsend started 35 times for Palace in the Premier League but could only muster up two goals. He did, however, contributed with a more than respectable total of seven assists.
