# Palace considering free transfer for Max Meyer

Crystal Palace are monitoring free agent Max Meyer, who has previously been linked with moves to Liverpool and Arsenal.

[According to the Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5988511/Crystal-Palace-target-Liverpool-midfielder-Marko-Grujic-Chelsea-outcast-Danny-Drinkwater.html), the German international is on the radar of Roy Hodgson, who is known to be working on a small budget this summer.

Meyer is currently a free agent after his deal at Schalke expired this summer.

The German is yet to agree on his next move and has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in the past, but there is also believed to be interest from France and other Bundesliga clubs.

Arsenal were said to be keen on bringing him to London, but it was reported that his wage demands were deemed too high.

Meyer left Schalke on bad terms, despite enjoying a successful season at the club.

Concerns over his future at the club saw him fall out with manager Domenico Tedesco.

However, Meyer thrived under Todesco, who utilised the player in a deeper midfield role compared to the more attacking position he has been known to play in.
