# Lyon keen to sign Mamadou Sakho

Lyon want to sign Crystal Palace defender Mamadou Sakho in a deal worth £13 million, according to a report from the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfer-news-arsenal-liverpool-live-12975543).

The Frenchman has long been linked with a move to the Ligue 1 giants and it seems the club are considering a fresh move for the defender, who performed well for Palace last term.

Sakho has only been contracted to Crystal Palace for one year following his big-money move from Liverpool last summer, and it seems rather unlikely that the Eagles would sanction his sale for a fee significantly lower than the £26 million that they spent on him.

Nevertheless, it seems Lyon remain interested in signing the ex-PSG central defender, who is sure to be a big part of Roy Hodgson’s plans as Palace continue to prepare for the upcoming season.

Lyon want to sign a new centre-back this summer and have been linked with Barcelona man Yerry Mina. However, it seems they have turned their attention to a potential pursuit of Sakho.

It’s claimed by the Mirror that, for Lyon to stand a chance of signing Sakho this summer, they would need the 28-year-old to significantly lower his wage demands. The report indicates that Sakho earns £100,000 per week at Selhurst Park.
