# Hodgson singles out Wan-Bissaka for praise

Following Crystal Palace’s impressive 2-0 victory against Fulham on Saturday afternoon, Roy Hodgson reserved plenty of praise for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The young right-back was afforded the opportunity to impress in the Eagles’ starting line-up once more and failed to disappoint, as he turned in yet another cultured display.

Palace enjoyed a comfortable afternoon across London as goals from Jeffrey Schlupp and Wilfried Zaha secured them a more than satisfying opening day victory.

It was Wan-Bissaka, though, who took plenty of the plaudits as he continued to establish himself as one of the Premier League’s brightest young talents.

Speaking to [Palace’s official club website](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/2018/august/hodgson-post-fulham/) following his side’s win at Craven Cottage, Hodgson heaped the praise on his young right-back.

> I thought he was absolutely excellent, both defensively and offensively. You only hope he’ll go from strength to strength – it is only his eighth game in the Premier League.

> He played on the opening game of the season, in a fantastic atmosphere against a team who have just come up and against Sessegnon who has had a wonderful season and is a bit of a flyer, so to do what he did today he will sleep well. If you’re going to give him a few pats on the back, I am more than happy to add my voice to the praise.

Palace will be hoping to continue in a similar vein of form when they return to Selhurst Park in their next fixture, as they welcome a confident Liverpool side to South London.
