# Palace in talks to sign Tottenham defender Okedina

Crystal Palace have held talks over a potential deal to sign Tottenham defender Jubril Okedina in the summer.

[According to All Nigeria Soccer, via HITC,](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/04/03/do-report-crystal-palace-in-talks-to-sign-tottenham-youngster-ji/) Palace are one of a number of clubs to have held talks with the defender.

Okedina is out of contract at the end of the season, which means he would be available to sign on a free transfer – with a potential tribunal fee.

The report claims that Tottenham are not prepared to offer him a new contract, which has attracted the attention of a host of clubs in England.

Ipswich and Swansea are the other two clubs said to be interested in the young defender.

Okedina has been a regular for the Tottenham under-18’s this season and is capable of playing at both right-back and centre-back.

The defender would likely move straight into Palace’s youth set-up, rather than competing for a first-team place.
