# Palace target Clyne ruled out for up to six months

Crystal Palace have been dealt a massive blow in their pursuit of Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne this summer.

[According to The Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/07/24/liverpools-nathaniel-clyne-ruled-six-months-suffering-cruciate/), Clyne has suffered an ACL injury, ruling him out of action for up to six months.

Clyne has been [heavily linked](https://readcrystalpalace.com/2019/07/20/clyne-open-to-crystal-palace-move/) with a move to Palace in recent weeks, with the club said to have been in talks with Liverpool over a potential deal for the right-back.

Sky Sports claim that Clyne has now flown back to England after suffering the injury whilst on tour with Liverpool in America.

Palace are looking to sign a right-back this summer to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka, following his £50m move to Manchester United.

The club may now have to look elsewhere in the transfer market to strengthen their squad, or hold off until January to make a move for Clyne.
