Crystal Palace are [reportedly](https://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/canaries-transfer-rumours-jamal-lewis-crystal-palace-1-6472768)interested in a deal to sign Norwich City left-back Jamal Lewis this month.

[According to the print edition of the Sunday Mirror, via The Pink’Un,](https://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/canaries-transfer-rumours-jamal-lewis-crystal-palace-1-6472768)Palace are considering a swoop for the Northern Ireland international.

[The report](https://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/canaries-transfer-rumours-jamal-lewis-crystal-palace-1-6472768) claims that Lewis is under contract until 2023 and that Norwich are under no financial pressure to sell.

### READ CRYSTAL PALACE VERDICT

Palace have been[forced](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/162/Show/England-Crystal-Palace) into playing Jairo Riedewald at left-back of late, due to Patrick Van Aanholt’s injury, which means that there is a vacancy in the left-back department. Riedewald is a [midfielder](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/162/Show/England-Crystal-Palace)by trade and playing out of position on the left side of the defence, so a move for Lewis would allow Roy Hodgson to have more balance in his side.

Lewis has [lost his place](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/168/Show/England-Norwich)in the Norwich starting line-up to Sam Byram, following an injury to the Northern Irishman earlier in the season, and was on the[bench](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/168/Show/England-Norwich) in their win over Bournemouth. He turns 22 later this month, which means that he still has plenty of time ahead of him to develop and progress as a player. Palace would be signing a player with Premier League experience as well as potential, which could be a good investment by the club as he could have resale value to make profit in the future.
