# Palace fans can’t believe Hodgson is up for Manager of the Year award

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson is one of the nominees for the Manager of the Year award at this year’s London Football Awards.

As reported on the [club’s official website](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/2020/february/london-football-awards-2020-crystal-palace-hodgson-cahill-guaita-palace-for-life-foundation/), Hodgson, Gary Cahill and Vicente Guaita are all in contention to win awards on March 5th at the Roundhouse in Camden.

The experienced manager has led the Eagles to seven league victories so far this season, along with nine draws and 10 defeats, leaving his side[six points away from the relegation zone.](https://www.premierleague.com/tables)

There’s speculation surrounding Hodgson’s future, with some[fans wanting the Eagles](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/crystal-palace/crystal-palace-fans-want-to-see-roy-hodgson-sacked-after-everton-defeat/) to appoint a new manager.

Former Palace owner and chairman Simon Jordan also feels that Hodgson[isn’t the right man](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/crystalpalace/roy-hodgson-crystal-palace-simon-jordan-a4360121.html) to lead the club forward.

His current deal at Selhurst Park expires at the end of this season but he’s [reportedly closing in](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/crystal-palace-roy-hodgson-contract-transfer-news-a4356916.html) on signing a one-year extension.

Many Palace fans [on Twitter](https://twitter.com/CPFC/status/1227525257067716608)can’t believe that Hodgson has been nominated for the award, especially after the club’s poor run of results in recent months.
