# Opinion: How Palace can end one terrible record against Newcastle

As reported on [BBC Sport](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51337005), Crystal Palace are without a clean sheet in 10 league matches.

The Eagles currently have [30 points from 26 league matches](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) and are still not safe from a tense relegation battle.

Roy Hodgson’s side have [not won a match](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/matches/fixtures/) in all competitions since Boxing Day last year and have lost their last three top-flight matches against Everton, Sheffield United and Southampton respectively.

Despite not keeping a clean sheet in ten consecutive league matches, the Eagles still boast a pretty decent record in terms of goals conceded.

They’ve only conceded[32 goals all season](https://www.premierleague.com/tables), which is the joint sixth-best record in that department.

Hodgson’s men come up against Newcastle United next and they need a clean sheet, mainly as a morale-booster for the defenders and goalkeeper.

Of course,[injuries and fitness issues](https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/2020/february/roy-hodgson-james-tomkins-injury-update-crystal-palace-v-everton/) have played a massive part, but individual errors have also cost the team dearly recently.

Below, we’ve looked at a few things that Palace could do to end this torrid run without a clean sheet in their next match against the Magpies.
