# Crystal Palace vs Lech Poznan: TV Channel, Live Stream & Europa League Preview

For anyone who stood in the away ends across the continent last season, watching history unfold as Crystal Palace lifted the Europa Conference League trophy in Leipzig, the journey still feels like a beautiful, waking dream. Oliver Glasner’s immortal reign brought silverware home to South London, etching this club’s name proudly into European football folklore.

But football, relentless and unforgiving, never stops moving forward. Stepping up a tier in the European pecking order, the Eagles are ready to write the opening chapter of a brand-new adventure. On Thursday evening, Selhurst Park plays host to our very first-ever **UEFA Europa League** league phase fixture, with Polish champions Lech Poznań standing in our way.

Under the guidance of summer hire Pierre Sage, the club is eager to translate last year’s continental heroics into a fast start in Europe’s second-tier competition. Yet, as the floodlights power up and the anticipation reaches fever pitch, the reality of a demanding season is already biting hard.

## The Domestic Backdrop and Injury Headaches

While the romance of Europe offers a glorious escape, Palace head into this historic tie carrying genuine concerns on the home front and inside a crowded treatment room.

Sage’s side has endured a bumpy patch in the Premier League recently, losing three of their last five outings. Most painfully, a weekend trip ended in a gut-wrenching 3-2 defeat to Ipswich Town on September 12. In a chaotic encounter, Axel Disasi saw red in the first half, and a cruel 90th-minute winner from substitute Zian Flemming condemned ten-man Palace to heartbreak.

Adding to the manager’s mounting list of headaches is a significant blow between the sticks. Club captain and talismanic goalkeeper Dean Henderson is sidelined with a persistent ankle injury, keeping him out of action until mid-October. While the club has rightly opened contract extension talks to underline just how central Henderson is to our long-term future, his immediate absence leaves a massive void on the pitch and in the dressing room.

## Meet the Opposition: Lech Poznań

Our visitors arrive in South London flying the flag for Poland’s Ekstraklasa. Managed by Niels Frederiksen, Lech Poznań didn’t just stumble into the league phase; they blew through the qualifiers with supreme confidence, finding the back of the net an astonishing 15 times across four matches.

They are battle-tested, highly motivated, and arrive in South London alongside Palace sharing an identical early position at the top of the fledgling Europa League table. Both clubs harbor genuine ambitions of punching their ticket to the knockout stages, meaning an opening-night slip-up is simply not on the agenda. For Sage and his players, finding consistency and defensive steel is an urgent priority.
