Crystal Palace goalkeeper Owen Goodman made a stunning debut for Dundee against Rangers while Jesurun Rak-Sakyi continued his sensational start to life in Turkey by registering another goal.

The two Eagles on loan at the weekend did Crystal Palace fans proud as they watched their players from afar.

Goodman made a number of crucial saves as Dundee drew 2-2 with Rangers in a thrilling Scottish Premiership encounter. Rak-Sakyi provided an assist for Kasımpaşa’s stunning 4-1 win against Samsunspor in the Turkish Süper Lig.

Owen Goodman impresses in Dundee’s draw with Rangers

Goodman played a big part in Dundee getting a point against Rangers at Dens Park on Saturday.

The 22-year-old was busier than ever after Dundee took a 2-1 lead in the early part of the second half, saving Bouanani in a one-on-one before making three more stops to thwart Rangers’ Djeidi Gassama.

He even had a dramatic block with his foot to keep out Gassama’s goal-bound shot.

Rangers eventually drew level through Nico Raskin’s exquisite long-range effort, leaving Goodman with little to work with. Yet, the Crystal Palace loanee continued to intervene as Dundee held on for a draw.

The result leaves Dundee fourth in the Scottish Premiership, two points above fifth-placed Falkirk.

Goodman joined Dundee on a season-long loan in July following previous spells with Huddersfield Town and Barnsley. His latest display provided further evidence of his worth to the Scottish side.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi assists in Kasımpaşa victory

Rak-Sakyi has also had a memorable weekend, providing an assist in Kasımpaşa’s 4-1 victory over Samsunspor.

The winger netted his first goal for the Turkish club against Galatasaray last week and has also added another brilliant performance to his tally.

With Kasımpaşa leading 2-1 midway through the second half, Rak-Sakyi shifted the ball onto his left foot before delivering a dangerous cross into the penalty area. Adam Arous headed home in the 64th minute to restore the hosts’ two-goal advantage.

Arous scored twice, while Claudio Winck and Adrian Benedyczak also found the net in a convincing victory.

Rak-Sakyi has featured in four of the five matches for which he has been eligible since joining Kasımpaşa on loan over the summer. The win lifted the club to seventh in the Turkish Süper Lig with 13 points.

Mixed fortunes for Palace’s other loanees

Rio Cardines completed another 90 minutes for Bristol City, but could not prevent a second consecutive 1-0 Championship defeat against Sheffield United.

The full-back had registered six assists in his first seven games before international duty with Trinidad and Tobago. He has since returned to regular involvement as Bristol City manage his workload.

Romain Esse also returned from injury, coming on as a substitute for Millwall against Lincoln City. Millwall battled back from behind to earn a 2-2 draw as Casper De Norre’s side found themselves in trouble before Cooper netted late on from a corner.

Elsewhere, Borna Sosa played the full 90 minutes for Cologne in a 1-0 Bundesliga defeat at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Matheus Franca played twice for FC Alverca in Portugal, featuring in a 2-0 extra-time defeat in the Taça de Portugal. Hindolo Mustapha and Thiago Speroni were sidelined with injuries for their respective clubs.

For Palace, Goodman’s goalkeeping heroics and Rak-Sakyi’s growing influence will provide encouraging signs as both continue gaining valuable senior experience away from south London.
