Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur was seen leaving Selhurst Park on crutches on Saturday night after the Eagles’ Premier League fixture with Tottenham with a suspected fractured foot but the star has tweeted this morning, calming fears over a severe injury.
The 27-year-old played a vital part in Palace’s midfield on the weekend alongside Joe Ledley, with the club captain Mile Jedinak out on international duty with Australia at the Asia Cup, leaving a hole in midfield to be filled which the pairing are covering during his absence.
McArthur tweeted this morning, playing down the initial fears tweeting: “Foot settled right down. Buzzing not as first feared.”
Nonetheless, the midfielder will undergo a scan this morning to find out the extent of the injury with many Palace fans and himself hoping he could get back to fitness before Saturday’s trip to Burnley.
