Crystal Palace fans are rejoicing as fan favourite Glenn Murray has signed a one year contract extension with the club, ending rumours that the striker could be moving to Reading after a successful loan spell there earlier in the season.
The 31-year-old’s extension hasn’t been confirmed by the club yet but speaking in his Everton pre-match press conference, the Palace manager said that the forward would be staying at the club having signed a contract extension; Palace co-chairman Steve Parish also confirmed the extension on Twitter today before the player added his comments as well.
Glenn Murray won the hearts of Eagles fans in their promotion season in 2012/13 when the striker scored 30 goals, including two goals against his old club and Crystal Palace rival Brighton before picking up a severe injury that kept him out last season in the play-off semi final first leg against the Seagulls, meaning he missed the final at Wembley.
Delighted to extend my deal at this fantastic club! #CPFC #CPFCfamily #FFS #Eagles #SE25
