Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Jordon Mutch from Queens Park Rangers on a four-and-a-half year contract for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old had only been at Harry Redknapp’s QPR for half a season after joining from Cardiff City in the summer for a fee close to £5million. Mutch only featured on nine occasions for the West London side, with two being in the Hoops’ cup competitions which include the FA Cup meaning that the player will miss Crystal Palace’s current FA Cup campaign.
Mutch spent the morning at the Eagles’ Beckenham training ground, finalising the move and completing a medical; this comes after spending a couple of days at the training ground with Alan Pardew working out a deal for the midfielder.
Born in England, the player will be facing stiff competition for a place in Alan Pardew’s already experienced midfield with Joe Ledley and James McArthur currently holding the fort with Mile Jedinak on international duty, who is expected to return to the club next week with Australia taking place in the Asian Cup final against South Korea on Saturday morning.
