Leicester: Player Ratings

Julian Speroni (TEE’s Man Of The Match) – 8/10

Alert and ready from start to finish and kept Palace in the game at key moments under very high pressure and at times, constant bombardment. Well deserved clean sheet and our man of the match.

Martin Kelly – 5/10

Mahrez really tested him in the first half and looked as if he may make a mistake every time he was ran at by the Frenchman. Going forward, though, he was a real threat.

Damien Delaney – 6/10

A typical Damo performance, solid and reliable without setting the world on fire.

Scott Dann – 5/10 (Substituted – Injury)

Showed real guts to go up to get the ball against an incoming Morgan but unfortunately couldn’t return after the break due to the clash of heads.

Joel Ward – 6/10

Again, a typical Joel Ward performance, solid. Schlupp offered him very little problems all afternoon.

Joe Ledley – 5/10

Match winner and did well to get up and score the goal but didn’t contribute much else and nearly cost the team a goal with a poor back pass.

James McArthur – 4/10

Kept James quiet. Very quiet game though. Had a bit of a touchline issue with Pearson. Banter? Didn’t look like it from where we were sitting.

Jordan Mutch – 3/10

Poor. A passenger throughout the first half and was axed at half time as a result

Jason Puncheon – 7/10

A typical Jason Puncheon appearance. Cut back onto his left foot a few times and looked dangerous doing so. Had an effort from 25 yards which was very close.

Wilf Zaha – 8/10

His first appearance following his permanent signing from Man Utd. Lively and the catalyst for majority of out attacks. Ran Simpson ragged.

Dwight Gayle – 5/10

Would’ve been better coming off the bench, than he was starting this game (and many others). Couple of half chances but never really got the right service to exploit his fire power in front of goal.
