In the light of recent racial incidents involving English football teams, in particular Chelsea, a table has been published showing the amount of arrests that have been made for racist/indecent chanting by current Premier League clubs, between 2004/05 and 2013/14.
The figures released by the Home Office show that Crystal Palace only had one fan arrested for these type of incidents in the 10-year period out of 171 across the entire top flight where seven teams have had fans arrested in double figures, this includes West Ham and Chelsea who together have had 29 arrests.
Seven arrests were made for racist or indecent chanting in the 2013/14 Premier League season, a low figure whilst looking at the average of 17 that have been made per season in the past ten years.
Last season, arrests in the Premier League totaled 296 where alcohol offences and public disorder led the way with 190 and 147 respectively.
