Ryan Inniss was stretched off in Port Vale’s 3-2 win over Coventry City with an ankle injury after making a tackle, shortly after receiving a yellow card.
The 19-year-old who has been at the club for three weeks on loan, was stretched off shortly after the 35 minute mark after making a challenge on Coventry’s Marcus Tudgay but after having an x-ray it has been revealed that the defender hasn’t suffered a break. However, a wait still remains to see what further damage was been done to the ankle.
On loan from Crystal Palace, Inniss has featured in all five games which have fallen during his loan spell at the club that started three weeks ago and with only a week left of his one-month loan, the club have been looking at extending it further as he has impressed during his time at Vale Park.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Port Vale’s manager Rob Page said: “We’ve been in discussions. He was definitely one we wanted to keep hold of.
“He’s fitted straight in. He’s come in and had an instant impact. He’s great to have around the place.”
