There’s no way to hide Crystal Palace’s improvement this season since the arrival of Alan Pardew in January, after he took over the reigns from Neil Warnock who seemed to have drained morale and performance out of the players at Selhurst Park.
James McArthur scored his second goal on Saturday for the club since joining from Wigan in September and is a player that has proved to be a hit with the fans, after impressive performances recently with the absence of captain Mile Jedinak but also beforehand where he attempted to get the midfield creating chances, as well as defending.
Spending time on the training pitch and in the dressing room with two different managers since his arrival, McArthur is praising the tactics employed by Pardew; claiming that it is allowing all of the players to express themselves, something they weren’t able to do under their former manager.
Speaking to cpfc.co.uk after the game on Saturday against QPR, the 27-year-old said: “The manager has been getting on at us to get bodies into the box because of the quality of our wingers. The balls they’ve put in have set the goals up and Wilf has managed to score as well so they’ve been excellent. Yannick was terrific too and I’m sure he’ll be happy with the assist as well.
“He (Pardew) has got us playing a style of play that we enjoy and everyone is really expressing themselves which is great for the fans to watch as well.”
