Struggling to get into the Crystal Palace team in recent seasons, Barry Bannan has been hinting at a move away from Selhurst Park in the summer in the hope to improve his chances of getting selected for his national side Scotland on a regular basis.
The 25-year-old who has played 27 games since joining the club in September 2013 is currently on loan at Bolton Wanderers in the Championship, helping the side maintain a respectable position in the league this season; under a recent management change that seen former Celtic manager Neil Lennon take the helms.
Speaking to Bolton News after impressing in their most recent game against Cardiff City, Bannan spoke about his loan spell and what he hopes will happen at the end of it:
“I came here to play games and I’ve played a lot in the last couple of months and I am really enjoying it,” he said.
“Everybody has been brilliant and it’s been great to get that bit of stability and get some regular game-time under my belt.
“Come the end of the year, if I have impressed, then I would like to see what happens. I can’t say at the minute. I can only concentrate on the games here, getting the club up the table and then we’ll see what happens in the summer.”
How many players will follow Bannan in the summer in what could be a busy transfer window for the Eagles?
