Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew is looking at signing Tim Krul this summer from his former side Newcastle United, according to a number of tabloids.
It is reported that the Eagles are “ready to launch” a £10m bid for the Magpies goalkeeper who has also made several appearances for the Netherlands, famously being brought on as a 120th minute substitute by Louis Van Gaal in the 2014 World Cup quarter-final for a penalty shoot-out.
At 27-years-old, Krul has been at Newcastle for his entire professional career after joining their academy in 2005 from ADO Den Haag, a local club to the Magpies goalkeeper in his home country.
Making 171 appearances at the club in the north-west of England, Tim Krul is reportedly on a wage of £28,000 a week and could be a viable move for Palace with Pardew set to be handed a significant financial budget to help the Eagles sustain themselves further into the Premier League next season.
This move could end Julian Speroni’s spell as Crystal Palace’s number one goalkeeper, leaving the door open to the 35-year-old if he wants to continue playing regular football.
