This weekend the 30th anniversary of the Bradford Fire Disaster of 11th May 1985 is being commemorated across the Premier League, with their being a minute silence prior to the match with Hull City in remembrance of the disaster.
There will be a collection before the game around Selhurst Park in support of the Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit (PSBRU), that was set-up in the wake of the disaster 30 years ago and relies on donations for its continuation.
In addition to money raised by fans this weekend, the Premier League has donated £25,000 to the PSBRU and has also offered to match the amount that is collected around the grounds in the division – this makes the collections made more important with fans being given the chance to make a valuable contribution to the good work that is being carried out by the PSBRU.
A JustGiving page has been set-up for Crystal Palace supporters to donate with any contribution made going towards a good cause, no matter how large or small the donation is – you can donate to the page by clicking here.
If you would like to extend your help further, the Crystal Palace Supporters Trust are looking for volunteers to collect donations around Selhurst Park before the game on Saturday against Hull City. For further information contact the Supporters Trust via e-mail at cpstrust@hotmail.com.
