A second Crystal Palace player has been linked with a move to Vicarage Road this summer, after the North London side finished second in the Championship this season, securing them Premier League status for next season.
According to reports in the Daily Mirror, Adrian Mariappa is a target for his former club as they look to boost the depth of their side ahead of what could be a difficult Premier League campaign next season in which they hope to avoid the fate of being relegated.
The 28-year-old has only made a handful of appearances for the Eagles this season, with the most recent appearance being against Chelsea a couple of weeks ago when they secured the Premier League title at Stamford Bridge. Mariappa has featured in the Premier League on 12 occasions this campaign but will be looking to secure a higher tally next season, making a move to Watford seem attractive.
Mariappa came through the Watford academy in 2005, seeing him make 245 appearances in all competitions during his time at the club, including 19 in the Premier League before moving to Reading in 2012 where he made a further 29 top-flight appearances.
He is the second player to be linked with a move to Watford this summer with Adlene Guedioura who had been on loan at the club, in favour of a move to the newly promoted side next season.
