Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has jokingly ruled out what would be a key summer signing this summer for the Eagles, saying he would prefer to stick to the wingers he currently has at the club.
Raheem Sterling is the man at the centre of the discussion with his agent very much making it seem like the winger will be leaving Liverpool this summer, leaving the door open for a number of top Premier League clubs to capture his signature and have him on their wings, threatening defences next season.
One man who has “categorically” ruled out a move for the England international is Alan Pardew who made the following comments when the subject of Sterling was brought up in his Swansea pre-match press conference yesterday at Selhurst Park, after the team trained ahead of tomorrows game at the ground:
“I can categorically tell you that we’re not in for Sterling,” Pardew said.
“Brendan can rest easy on us, we are not one of the clubs courting him.
“We’re quite happy with Wilf and Bolasie.”
Where will Sterling end up at the end of the summer? Nobody knows the answer to that question but Brendan Rodgers said in his pre-match press conference that he expects the winger to honour his contract at the club.
