James McArthur burst onto the Selhurst scene in a big way last year with a string of tremendous performances. He was undoubtedly the most successful transfer of the season and his grit and determination ensured that he fast became a fan favourite. The midfielder was even many people’s choice for player of the season, but he was just pipped to the post by teammate Scott Dann.
His success last season was encapsulated by his brilliant never-say-die attitude and incessant hounding of the opposition, and he’ll surely be looking to have an even better 2015/16. Rumours have had him linked with a move away from Selhurst but Palace will be determined to tie him down on a new contract.
Despite his large transfer fee, on his arrival, many fans would’ve been unfamiliar with him and Pardew even mistakenly called him by the name of his former teammate ‘James McCarthy’ on his arrival mid-way through the campaign to save Palace’s season.
One year onwards, can you trump Super Al and show that you know everything there is to know about South London’s favourite Scot?
