Former Crystal Palace academy player Kyle de Silva has signed a two-year-deal with League Two side Notts County this afternoon, after he was released by the Eagles at the end of the season.
The 21-year-old was told by coaching staff at the end of the season that he would not be kept on for another season, despite lighting up the scoresheet and playing admirably for the under-21s last season – a season of which Crystal Palace’s development side made it through to the Development League Two Play-Off semi finals.
Kyle de Silva made his first team debut for the Eagles in the FA Cup against Derby County in 2012 and went on to make seven additional appearances in the Championship, whilst also featuring in the Capital One Cup and going out on loan to Barnet. He is a player that has suffered with injuries in the past, but it seems as if the worst is behind him.
It is believed that the young midfielder was released by the club to give him the opportunity of playing regular football, something that the club would not be able to offer him, therefore helping the player find a club, which has turned out to be Notts County.
