According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Crystal Palace will complete the signing of Paris St Germain midfielder Yohan Cabaye tomorrow on a four-year contract after agreeing personal terms today.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs this summer but it looks as if the French international will re-unite with Alan Pardew at Selhurst Park, with the Eagles team that finished 10th in the Premier League last season with aims of a higher finish being the target in this upcoming campaign.
It was reported this morning by the BBC that the former Newcastle United midfielder had agreed personal terms with Crystal Palace and was due to undergo a medical in South London. The player had been pictured shopping in London, the image of which appeared on social networking site Instagram and has been widely spread on Twitter since it was uploaded.
Yesterday evening, it was reported that the Eagles and PSG had agreed a fee worth £12.8m including add-ons after having an initial bid for the player turned down last week, with that offer not meeting the French side’s valuation of the player.
As reported by L’Equipe this morning, Cabaye has turned down an offer from Atletico Madrid and a “few other English clubs” to join Pardew at Selhurst Park, showing how far the South London club has come since coming out of administration and from the brink of liquidation five years ago.
