According to the Hull Daily Mail, Crystal Palace are interested in Hull City’s James Chester, with Steve Bruce slapping an £8m price tag on the young defender.
With a list of players already departed the KC Stadium over the course of the summer, City boss Bruce is attempting to stop this flurry, and will only let the central defender leave if the price is right, and both parties are happy with the move.
Before flying out to their pre-season tour of South Africa, Palace had targeted Chester, the former Manchester United defender. Steve Parish and co were probably hoping that a deal would be made sooner, so the Hull man could have joined the tour, but this didn’t happen.
Palace’s co-chairman Steve Parish has told Eagles supporters to keep their eyes peeled, as he expects not one, but two deals to happen before the start of next season.
Crystal Palace have already been extremely busy this summer, bringing in former Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye. Patrick Bamford was also confirmed by the club this week, as he joins the Eagles from Chelsea on a season-long-loan.
