Crystal Palace are one of several clubs said to be interested in a move for highly-rated Barnet striker Matt Stevens.
HITC Sport understand that the Eagles, as well as Swansea City, are considering a move for the impressive 17-year-old, who scored a ridiculous 50 goals last seasons for the Barnet U18 side.
The teenager was released last summer by the Reading academy despite being a prolific striker for the club’s U16 side, but found a home at Barnet where his game could grow and develop.
Alan Pardew is always one to locate and sign young talent, much like he did at Newcastle with additions such as Olivier Kemen and Gael Bigirimana, and now wants to bring Stevens to Selhurst Park to play for their youth setup.
This could be one of several transfers in the forward ranks for Palace, as Dwight Gayle looks set to join Fulham on loan to make way for Connor Wickham’s arrival from Sunderland.
