Sevilla have joined Crystal Palace, Real Madrid, Tottenham, Liverpool, West Ham and Arsenal in the race to sign Juventus striker Fernando Llorente.
Spanish source AS are reporting that the La Liga side are plotting an ‘eight figure bid’ for the former Atheltic Bilbao striker, who looks destined to leave Turin this summer.
The target-man forward would fit in well with Alan Pardew’s lone striker philosophy, and could rival Connor Wickham for a starting role, with Glenn Murray asking to leave the club after seeing the Eagles sign another forward this week.
Juventus have recruited Palermo’s Paulo Dybala, Sassuolo’s Simone Zaza and Atletico Madrid’s Mario Mandzukic this summer to battle with Alvaro Morata up front, meaning the Spanish international will likely follow Carlos Tevez out the exit door.
Llorente has some pedigree in European football, boasting a solid record in both domestic and continental competitions, and could help fire Palace into the Top 8 discussion.
