Boosted by the fact that Crystal Palace won’t be selling star man Yannick Bolasie this summer, they’re on the verge of bringing in a competitor for the 26-year-old.
According to Midlands-based paper The Express and Star, former Wolves winger Bakary Sako is on the verge of signing for the Eagles on a free transfer.
The former Saint Etienne winger left the Championship side in June after the expiry of his contract, and has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, with West Brom, Everton, Leicester, Newcastle and Aston Villa all said to have been interested.
The 27-year-old would come in to provide cover to both Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha on the wings, and boasts an impressive scoring record for Wolves in the lower reaches of English football, scoring 15 goals and recording 10 assists last season as they narrowly missed out on promotion.
Sako fits in well with Pardew’s 4-2-3-1 system as a tricky winger with excellent delivery – could prove to be a very astute piece of business.
