Manchester United and Manchester City are rivalling Crystal Palace and Swansea in a bid to sign teenage striking sensation Matt Stevens from Barnet.
The 17-year-old wasn’t a feature for Barnet’s first-team as he was developing in their academy but managed to score and extraordinary 50 goals for their U18 side last season, and became their youngest ever player when he came off the bench against Alfreton in a Conference game.
According to ESPN, United and City are monitoring his situation and could make an offer for the youngster and have him continue to work on his game in their respective academy set ups.
Both Crystal Palace and Swansea have already seen bids rejected for the teenager, but are readying increased offers should the two Manchester clubs firm up their interest.
Crystal Palace could see Dwight Gayle leave the club this summer with Bristol City eager to sign him, and Stevens could replace their top scorer of the last two seasons in the squad.
