According to reports from HITC, Cardiff City are working extra hard to strike a deal with Crystal Palace in order to take midfielder Joe Ledley to the Cardiff City Stadium in January.
The Welshman seemed to have nailed down his spot in the Palace midfield until the south London club signed former Newcastle maestro Yohan Cabaye, which instantaneously limited Ledley’s chances of making it into the starting XI. Meaning that he could be looking elsewhere for first team football.
Cardiff have picked up on this matter and Russell Slade seems to want the former Bluebird back at the club. Cardiff would have the upper hand with any negotiations due to the players love and affection for the club.
In a six year spell with the club, Ledley made an impressive 229 appearances, in which he scored 27 goals, before opting to sign for Scottish giants Celtic.
If Russell Slade does pull off this deal, Ledley’s experience and quality will boost Cardiff’s chances of a top six finish, with the club already sitting 6th in the Championship table.
