Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha is adamant that there’s nothing in the way to prevent him playing consistently well following his Man of the Match performance against West Brom on Saturday afternoon.
The winger won the penalty late into the second half in which midfielder Yohan Cabaye converted to put Palace 2-0 up. In fact, it was the same as what happened against Watford at Vicarage Road the weekend before.

Throughout the 90 minutes, Zaha was a constant threat to Baggies’ full-back Chris Brunt as the Eagles climbed up to fourth in the Premier League table following the win over ex-Manager Tony Pulis’ side.
Speaking to South London Press, Zaha said:
I just need to carry on playing well and get consistency. I managed to get man of the match, the first of many hopefully.
It’s crazy [the position Palace are in] but it’s still early to think too much. We’ll just keep our heads down and carry on.
After Palace’s game at Tottenham in which they lost 1-0, manager Alan Pardew criticised Zaha for his lack of consistency. However, in the three games after the Spurs defeat, the former Manchester United star has been vitally important.
The 22-year-old started the Watford game on the bench but came on to win the penalty which gave the visitors the win.
There was no point sulking about it. What the gaffer says is to make you better – I’ve taken it on the chin and proved to him that I can play well.
There’s great support from the fans, and it’s a great side, a great team I’m playing for. There’s nothing stopping me.
