Crystal Palace are reportedly very keen to win the race for Ballymena ‘wonderkid’ Matthew Shevlin ahead of Celtic and Rangers.
The Northern Irishman has been training with The Eagles this season and Alan Pardew is said to be impressed with the youngster.
The 16-year-old, who’s already represented his country at under-17 level, would work with Palace’s development squads (U18 and U21) if he were to join the club.

Ballymena United reportedly rebuffed an approach from Selhurst Park for the teenager, but Palace aren’t keen to take no for an answer it seems.
Palace are currently in a rich vein of form heading into the international break and will undoubtedly be looking to continue that after it.
Shevlin, as above, wouldn’t be expected to come into the first team setup, and therefore wouldn’t be able to influence Palace’s upcoming fixtures, but if a deal is struck, he’s certainly one for the future.
