On Saturday afternoon at New Meadow, Shrewsbury Town’s home ground, lesser-known Palace youngster Sullay Kaikai bagged a brace to help The Shrews to three points against Colchester.
The on-loan midfielder came off the bench to score two goals for Micky Mellon’s side and the Shrewsbury manager was full of praise for the London-born Kaikai after the game.

People will laugh but I told him a few weeks ago ‘you’ll be on Match of the Day’. Hopefully that will be a long time from now, because I want to keep him here but that’s how good he is and he’s a brilliant kid as well.
He’s a terrific player and he’s always got a smile on his face too, so he’s great to work with.
The Englishman has been well thought of at Selhurst for a while, and he’s widely tipped to make an impact in the top tier at some point during his career.
The 20-year-old’s nine minute double at the weekend clear proof of his quality and undoubted talent.
Kaikai joined Shrewsbury just a few weeks ago in the middle of September, on a four-month loan deal, and there’d be no surprise if that was extended if his performances continue in a similar vein.
