With all the news surrounding Patrick Bamford at the moment, Pardew knows that it is vital Wickham gets to get back to full fitness.
Dwight Gayle is likely to lead the line against the Hammers on Saturday.
Damien Delaney and Australian international Mile Jedinak are both fit and ready to re-join the team for Saturday giving Alan Pardew’s side a boost. But, Joel Ward and former Arsenal man Marouane Chamakh will miss out on the action due to injury.
