Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has warned his players of West Ham’s counter attacking play when they visit Selhurst Park this weekend.
The Eagles are currently sitting fourth in the Premier League, only a win away from league leaders Manchester City, but are only a point ahead of London rivals West Ham, who are sitting in sixth.
West Ham have also started the season in impressive form, especially away from home, where they have beaten Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool. The former West Ham boss, Pardew, knows the threat that they will have to his Palace side.
They’re very good on the counter, I expect us to get a grasp of the game like we did against West Brom and dictate proceedings but that’s not going to stop West Ham from winning the game. We need to be organised in our possession otherwise they will counter us really quickly and we’ll find ourselves in the game.
After the first two months in the season, neither of these sides were predicted to be where they are, but both will be chomping at the bit to keep their impressive runs going after the international break.
It is a top-of-the-table encounter That is good for two teams who weren’t predicted to be there at this stage of the season. We’re coming off a good performance and West Ham will be aware of that. I am sure they will be looking to upset our rhythm and what we do really well.
