Crystal Palace veteran Julian Speroni believes he is ready to return to the first team following the injury he suffered in pre-season.
Alex McCarthy was the man between the sticks for Crystal Palace throughout September, until Welsh international Wayne Hennessey took his place for the game against Watford earlier this month.
And, after keeping back to back clean sheets, it looks like Hennessey will continue in goal this weekend when West Ham visit Selhurst Park this Saturday.
Speroni, however, has been back in training for just under a month and featured for the under-21s on Monday in a bid to boost his match fitness.
The 36-year-old has faced some tough challenges throughout his career and this is just another one to add to the list. Speroni wants his place back in the starting eleven but he knows that it is down to manager Alan Pardew when he re-joins the starting line up.
I feel great and I feel good to come back in to the first team – it’s up to the manager now when he thinks I am ready,At the moment I’m getting more minutes on the pitch and then I just have to wait for an opportunity. In my mind I am available to play.
