Crystal Palace defender Brede Hangeland has said he believes that Palace can defeat the odds and beat Manchester City in the Capital One Cup tonight.
Speaking to the Croydon Advertiser, he said that with some luck and a good performance, Crystal Palace could knock Man City out of the competition.
Hangeland admits that the game will not be easy, but is looking forward to the test, and believes that the team are up to it. He says that the fact his team could cause an upset is ‘the beauty of the game’.
Hangeland joined Crystal Palace from Fulham after their relegation in 2014. His 6-year spell at Craven Cottage ended after a relegation clause in his contract was triggered.
He has made 25 appearances for Palace, getting himself two goals from the centre-back position.
He has featured in all but four games in all competitions this season, and is yet to be substituted in a league match.
