Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann has praised the hard graft and determination showed by his team to get a 2-1 victory against Stoke at the weekend.
Speaking to the Croydon Advertiser, the defender spoke about how important it was that the team worked hard to get their win.
I felt we started well then it became a bit scrappy, but it can be like that at Stoke sometimes and you have to dig in. For us, it was about doing that. We may not have played too well at times but we got the three points and we grafted it.
The Eagles snatched victory in the 89th minute, with a wonder goal from Chung-Yong Lee. Dann praised the Korean after his strike.
He’s a great little player, Chungy. He showed the quality he’s got. He hasn’t played much since he came, especially this season, so to take the strike the way he did shows the quality he has.

The centre-back also said how effective Palace have been on the counter this season, something which showed again during the weekend’s victory.
We have that pace and power where we can spring defence into attack really quickly. When teams come on to us, we can get up the pitch fast. We just showed determination to defend as a team, because I felt Stoke played well.
27-year-old Dann also admitted that the weather was not favorable to play in, which made the victory all the more satisfying.
It was a tough day. The weather conditions weren’t great, it was windy and swirly out there.

Dann has played 16 games for Palace so far this season and has contributed three goals, one of them being the winner in the famous victory against Liverpool at Anfield. He joined Crystal Palace in January 2014, and has made a total of 68 appearances for the club so far.
