Crystal Palace and Newcastle United are battling it out for Jonjo Shelvey’s signature, according to reports.
Shelvey has fallen out of favour at Swansea City after Garry Monk’s sacking, and could move on to new pastures to seek a place in England’s Euro 2016 squad this summer.
The 23-year-old’s Swansea future is definitely in doubt now, after furiously arguing with the travelling Swans supporters after their shock FA Cup defeat against League Two side Oxford United at the weekend.

Despite his troublesome few months at the Liberty Stadium, Alan Pardew and Steve McClaren both highly rate the central midfielder and aim to lure him to their respective teams in the Janaury transfer window. A £10 million bid could see Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins offload the former-Liverpool man.
Shelvey has six England caps to his name, and hopes to add many more to the list. However, acquring those precious international appearances will have to mean that he’s playing week-in, week-out in the Premier League which could be his main reason for joining Palace or Newcastle.
With Newcastle well in the relegation battle though, could Shelvey favour a move to the high-flying Eagles who have an all-but guaranteed top-flight future? It’ll be interesting to find out.
