Alan Pardew has posed Wayne Hennessey an ultimatum; either up your game or face a spell on the sidelines, as per a report in The Mirror.
Hennessey had a nightmare game against Manchester City at the weekend, allowing Fabian Delph’s 35-yard-strike under his body and into the goal.
This is not the first mistake the Welshman has made, as the week before the Eagles’ stopper made another blunder against Aston Villa.
Hennessey’s mistakes are a huge cause for concern for Pardew and you could see this during his post-match interview at the weekend when he said:
I don’t need to tell him he’s under pressure. I need to see a reaction this week, see a good psychology from him, a good approach to training. If I see that, he’ll get my backing because he’s done terrific and he’s earned the right to be in that goal. But now he’s got pressure under him, which is going to come from those two errors.

Hennessey’s performances may have cost Palace points recently but Pardew is willing to stick with the Wales international if he can prove his value in the coming week.
If the 28-year-old does not improve, Alan Pardew has the luxury of having another two proven Premier League goalkeepers, Julian Speroni and Alex McCarthy, as options to replace him with.
