The Eagles were looking for the first win in five in the Premier League and were boosted by the addition of Emmanuel Adebayor to the match day squad.
Despite taking the lead through Scott Dann, ending the Londoners goalless streak, Alan Pardew saw his side pegged back through goals from Marc Pugh and a headed winner by Benik Afobe.
This leaves Palace with five losses in a row in the league and desperately out of form and luck.
